Webhooks are a way for an app to send automated information to other apps.
For example, we could create an Alarm that when triggered will send information about the app to Slack and post a message.
So let's say we want to create an alert in Slack whenever someone goes to Facebook. We'd create the alarm like normal:
Then, enable Webhooks:
We'll need to enter something into the URL in order to tell the agent where to send the information to. This is usually provided by the app we are trying to insert the information into. For example, Slack allows you to create an app which will generate a URL for you.
Once we have that URL, ActivTrak will by default send a webhook with the following information (depending on your alarm):
You can also add more information by adding to the "Parameters" field.
