Deploy Agents via the ActivTrak app

The direct install is by far the easiest way of installing the Agent. 

Note: If your intention is a silent deployment (installation unknown to the user), we advise clearing the browser and download history after the Agent has been installed, and deleting the installation file.

 

How To:

1. Using the computer on which you want to install the agent, log into the ActivTrak app and download the Agent.

  • If you have no Agents deployed in your account, you will land on the "Activation" page each time you log into the app. From this page, click the green "Download Agent" button within the "Install on your device" box. A banner will appear at the top of your screen confirming that the installation file has been downloaded.

Installing your first Agent from the Activation Page

 

  • If you have at least 1 Agent deployed in your account, download the Agent from a Home page.

From Admin Panel, click the "Install/Share Agent File" Quick Action:

Then click the green "Download Agent" button within the "Install on your device" box:

A banner will appear at the top of your screen confirming that the installation file has been downloaded.

 

Or, from Activity Dashboard, click the blue "Download Agent" button, which will automatically detect the computer's operating system and download the appropriate Agent version:

Click "Ok" to acknowledge the pop-up reminder not to rename the file:

2. Open the downloaded file and complete the steps as prompted by the installer.

3. Verify the installation was successful by checking whether the computer appears under Settings > Users & Groups > Computer Agents, and the user under Settings > Users & Groups > User Agents, within a few minutes.

4. Log out of ActivTrak.

5. (Optional) Clear browser history, download history, and delete the installation file.
