Activity Breakdown - Analysis

Assess how total, productive and unproductive time is spent across teams and individuals. Using goals, quickly evaluate how a team’s behavior compares to the goal state. Use trends to see variations over time and category allocation to quickly assess where time is dedicated.

Is my team engaging in productive activities on a daily basis? Compared to goals?

It is helpful to understand a team’s productivity patterns over a period of time. The aggregation of productive behaviors across a team is tremendously beneficial in achieving productive outcomes. 

Is each employee engaging in productive activity on a daily basis? Compared to goals?

With a focus on support opportunities and improvement, consider answering this question through the lens of “Where can I quickly provide help?” Assess which employees consistently struggled to engage in productive work over a set period of time. Perhaps they are unclear on goals (role alignment), struggling with how to complete a task (training), and or dispassionate about the work (engagement). 

Where is time being spent?

Immediately assess where unproductive distractions exist by looking at where time is allocated across your team. Share this data as the basis for setting team-wide or individual goals to increase or decrease these numbers over time.

A. Average Productive Hrs/Day: Each team's Avg. Productivity Hrs/Day reflects their average productive time for the selected time period and compared to the specified productive hrs/day goal. You can update goals on the benchmarks & goals page.

B. User Activity Type vs. Goals: Each team member’s Activity Type Bar reflects their activity breakdown throughout the day (a more in-depth look of the Team Activity Type Bar). We see individual user performance in the context of other team members. The purple goal indicator allows managers to compare each team member’s activity to the target goal.

C. Team Activity Type vs Goal: The Team Activity Type bar reflects the average productive, unproductive, and undefined time for the team. The goal indicates the desired productive time amount for the team. We view this bar for quick insights into daily team performance.

Note that your Administrator can update the Productivity classifications in the Settings -> Classification page.

D. Category Allocation % by Team: Category allocation % by team helps us better understand where the team is spending its time. This is useful for managers looking to understand potential obstacles or simply looking for clues into activity and strategy alignment.

Small adjustments can drastically improve the team’s capacity.  Ex., understanding the % of time in meeting software vs. developer tools can help drive changes to remove unnecessary distractions and boost the team’s overall productivity

E. Category Allocation % by User: It is important to understand how individuals spend time in various applications depending on their roles. Dive into the individual level and assess if the current time allocation is reasonable based on the demands of the work. Gauge whether small adjustments/coaching may be needed.
