Passive Time Classification Enhancements (Release 5.2)

ActivTrak’s latest release enhances how passive time is measured and visualized throughout the application. We have added summary and detailed views to the Top Websites, Top Applications, and Top Categories reports.

Additionally, we modified the behavior of the download the agent button so only Administrators can access it, adjusted the language on the Team Pulse feature that controls whether passive time is included in the productivity ratio calculation, and fixed a few minor bugs. 

 

All Top Reports now have Detailed Views

Similar to the summary and detailed views released to the Productivity and Top Users last month, now the Top Websites, Top Applications, and Top Categories reports default to the summary view and users can drill into the details within the detailed view.

Agent Downloads available only for Admins

Prior to this release, both the Admins and Power Users had access to download the agent via the Dashboard. With this release, only Admins will be able to see the agent download buttons on the Dashboard. To distribute the agents, Admins can provide their employees with an agent download link. 

 

Team Pulse update

With the recent passive enhancements, some customers mentioned they were confused with the Team Pulse settings allowing them to ‘Use Total Time’ vs. ‘Use Active Time’. To clarify this user experience, we have updated these settings and the labels on the User and Group cards to explicitly say if the time or productivity ratio includes or excludes passive time. 

 

When selecting ‘Include Passive Time’, the cards will not only display the Total Time (active + passive) but the productivity ratio will be calculated using Productive Active + Productive Passive divided by the total active and passive time.

 

When selecting ‘Exclude Passive Time’, the cards will display only the Active Time and the productivity ratio will be calculated using Productive Active divided by the total active and passive time.

 

Bug Fixes

This release includes several minor bug fixes including:

  • Ensuring Team Pulse in Computer Mode does not display productivity ratios over 100%
  • Fixed rare occurrence of when Quick Stats on the dashboard did not match the Top Apps quick stats
  • Activity Log now sorts the Productivity column correctly 
  • Activity Log/Productivity report did not match due to the ignore category
  • Weekly Digest Quick Stats did not match Dashboard
