Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. At ActivTrak, we continued to support our customers using Windows 7 for over two additional years via our Windows Agent release updates. However, beginning May 1, 2022, we are officially ceasing support for Windows 7 in order to develop new features not supported in the aging operating system.
Windows 7-based machines should be on Agent version 8.1.20, the final Agent version that supports the Windows 7 operating system. Those Agents will not auto-update to newer Windows Agent releases in the 8.2 line.
Please note that our latest Windows Agent 8.2 is not compatible with Windows 7 and attempted installs will fail. If you have manually updated your Windows 7 machine Agents to 8.2, please contact our Support team to help you downgrade.
We encourage our customers to upgrade to the latest supported OS versions to benefit from the newest features and functionality available in ActivTrak.
