How to Optimize Live Report Performance

The new Live Reports Performance Optimization leverages a new 90-day report data cache to boost the performance of ActivTrak live reports and dashboard queries. This new cache is generated nightly to ensure analysis of team-level data is available quickly. Any updates to classification, users, or groups are applied automatically to the cache just as they do today in Live Reports. 

To fully take advantage of this optimization, Admins can use the new Account Configuration setting to exclude current day data from date filter options. Excluding the current day data at the account level allows for all users accessing Live Reports within the 90-day cache period to experience faster load times.  

To enable this setting, from the dashboard, navigate to Settings > Account Configuration > Live Report Performance Optimization.


This setting, when enabled, will apply to historical date-range queries in the Date filter drop-down menu at the top left side of the individual live reports in the app. Today’s data will be excluded in queries such as Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year, and Last Year. Today’s data is available when selecting Custom Ranges that include the current date and the “Today” filter.
