The ActivTrak Admin: Account Configuration certification is a 10-course learning journey designed to guide ActivTrak Administrators through everything they need to successfully implement ActivTrak — from initial login and Agent deployment to full configuration and platform exploration.

This certification is designed for ActivTrak Administrators responsible for:

How to access the certification

Access the ActivTrak Admin: Account Configuration certification directly from within the ActivTrak app by navigating to Help > ActivTrak Academy, or via the link in the top right corner.

How each course works

Each course is made up of short, focused modules that take 3–7 minutes to complete. Every course includes:

  • Specific action items — Hands-on tasks to complete in your own ActivTrak account as you learn.

Course 1: Your ActivTrak Foundation

Duration: 30–45 minutes

Get your account operational and data flowing. Covers login, Guided Account Setup, Agent installation on your own device, whitelisting, and verifying that data is reporting correctly. Perfect for brand new administrators or anyone starting from scratch.

Course 2: Agent Installation & Deployment

Duration: 1–2 hours

Master Agent deployment across all platforms and scenarios. Covers direct, remote, and silent deployment methods for Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS devices, as well as the ActivTrak Assist Browser Extension, Agent updates, and troubleshooting. Essential for anyone responsible for rolling out ActivTrak across their organization.

Course 3: Setting Up Users & Groups

Duration: 1 hour

Set up the people side of ActivTrak. Covers navigating the Users page, managing user records, creating groups, setting display names, configuring Do Not Track rules, and keeping your account data accurate and well-organized.

Course 4: Account Settings

Duration: 1 hour

Configure the core settings that determine how ActivTrak operates. Covers Active and Passive Time, sensitive data visibility, Live Report performance, schedules, time zones, and website blocking. Important for accurate data collection and appropriate privacy levels.

Course 5: Insights Configuration

Duration: 45 minutes

Configure advanced analytics features to maximize workforce insights. Covers Insights settings, privacy controls, offline meeting handling, activity alignment, benchmarks, goals, and email subscriptions.

Course 6: Activity Classification

Duration: 1 hour

Define what "productive" means for your organization. Covers the Classification page, pending and bulk classification, custom categories, group classifications, and the Intelligent Auto-Classification system. Critical for accurate reporting and meaningful insights.

Course 7: Access Control & Security

Duration: 1 hour

Control who can access which data with effective user and permission management. Covers the four user roles, inviting app users, assigning viewable groups, customizing role permissions, and configuring SSO, MFA, and Google Authentication.

Course 8: Goals & Notifications

Duration: 45 minutes

Establish success metrics and stay informed about important events. Covers setting account-level and team-level productivity goals, enabling and configuring alarms, and setting up Productivity Signals.

Course 9: ActivTrak App Exploration

Duration: 1 hour
