Receiving Microsoft Teams Notifications via Webhooks

External Notifications, formerly known as Webhooks, are a way to receive a notification or take action based on data (i.e., via Alarms). Setting up an external notification to the popular messaging app Microsoft Teams is now even easier.

  1. From the left-hand menu, select Notifications > Compliance Alarms > Alarm Configuration (Alarms > Configuration). From this page, you can choose to edit an existing alarm or create a new alarm to configure the notification.

  1. We currently support sending messages via Slack and Microsoft Teams; however, the option to choose a custom URL is also available.

For guidance on how to enable incoming Webhooks for Microsoft Teams, please follow this guide: Microsoft Teams: Creating Incoming Webhooks

  1. Once the Webhook URL has been successfully set up, your notification will appear as shown in the following example in Microsoft Teams, where anything within the "$" will be the actual information as it appears in the Activity Log and Alarm Log.

  1. A direct link to the Alarm Log will also be available, and you can visit and edit the Alarm itself if necessary.
