Receiving Slack Notifications via Webhooks

External Notifications, formerly known as Webhooks, are a way to receive a notification or take action based on data (i.e., via Alarms). Setting up an external notification to the popular messaging app Slack is now even easier.

  1. From the left-hand menu, select Notifications > Compliance Alarms > Alarm Configuration (Alarms > Configuration). From this page, you can choose to edit an existing alarm or create a new alarm to configure the notification.

  1. We currently support Slack and Microsoft Teams as options for sending messages; however, a custom URL is also available for selection.

For guidance on how to enable incoming Webhooks for Slack, please follow this guide: Slack: Sending messages using incoming webhooks.

  1. Once the Webhook URL has been successfully set up, your notification will appear in Slack, as shown in the following screenshot. Any information within the "$" will be displayed as it appears in the Activity Log and Alarm Log.

  1. A direct link to the Alarm Log will also be available, and you can visit and edit the Alarm itself if necessary.
