ActivTrak now offers a new and improved Guided Account Setup, an onboarding experience that customizes your platform interface based on your organization's specific needs. During this process, you'll see the reports, features and settings most relevant to your workforce analytics goals.

How It Works

When you create a new ActivTrak account, you'll immediately see the Guided Account Setup wizard. The process walks you through:

  1. Use Case Selection - Choose your primary workforce priority
  2. Role and Company Context - Share your position and organization size for relevant recommendations
  3. Sensitive Data Visibility - Set visibility levels with three options:
    • Basic Details: High-level data on applications and websites (Slack, Excel, activtrak.com)
    • Advanced Details: Basic details plus title bars and full URLs (Slack Company Updates - ActivTrak - Slack; Excel Q3 Budget Spreadsheet)
    • Full Details: All Advanced details plus Screen Details add-on
  4. Agent Deployment - Choose "I want my data now" to download immediately or "Let me explore" to navigate the platform first
  5. Configuration Checklist - Complete critical settings with guided tours and progress tracking

The new setup includes an interactive "Get started with ActivTrak" checklist that guides you through:

  • Account data settings and privacy controls
  • Out-of-the-box alarm configuration
  • Activity classification for productivity analysis
  • Exploration of key reports like Top Users and Groups

A persistent purple question mark icon ensures you can always reopen the checklist for guided assistance, making the onboarding process supportive rather than overwhelming.

 

Implementation Notes

  • Guided Account Setup appears automatically for new accounts
  • Existing accounts won't see the setup wizard since it's designed for initial configuration
  • All privacy and access settings can be modified later in Settings > Access > Role Access
  • The feature respects your current workflow - you can explore before deploying or start collecting data immediately
