Dashboards utilizing Insights display daily average metrics (productive hrs/day, focus hrs/day, etc.) for individual users and teams. These averages are calculated by dividing a user's total productive hours by their number of Active Days in a given period — so an accurate Active Day count is key to meaningful results. Brief activity on a non-workday, like checking email on a Saturday, can count as an Active Day and dilute your averages in ways that don't reflect actual performance. How Active Days are determined depends on whether your account has the HRIS Integration (Add-on) enabled.
Configuration to compute averages
Dashboards using Insights display daily average metrics — productive hrs/day, focus hrs/day, and others — for individual users and teams. These averages are calculated by dividing a user's total productive hours by their number of Active Days in a given period.
Because not every day with recorded activity is a true working day, ActivTrak lets you define what counts as an Active Day. A brief email check on a Saturday, for example, shouldn't dilute a weekly productivity average.
How Active Days are determined depends on your account configuration:
- Accounts with HRIS Integration (Add-on): Active Days are calculated automatically using work schedules and approved time-off data. Learn more about active day calculation with HRIS Integration.
- Accounts without HRIS Integration: Active Days are configured using either a minimum-hours threshold or your work schedule. Learn more about active day calculation without HRIS Integration.
