Template access requirements
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- An ActivTrak paid plan and the ActivConnect API (Add-on).
- Your ActivConnect username ([account_number]@activtrak.us) and password. Your account number is in the Account Information menu in ActivTrak; access it via the circle icon in the top right corner.
- An active Power BI license.
Access the template
Validate your ActivConnect credentials
- Navigate to Google Cloud Console.
- Log in with your ActivConnect username ([account_number]@activtrak.us) and password.
Install the template
- Within the ActivTrak app, navigate to APIs & Integrations > ActivConnect & BI.
- Find the Potential False Activity card and click the Get it from Microsoft AppSource icon.
- The Microsoft AppSource ActivTrak for Potential False Activity page will open - click the Get it now button.
- Power BI will open, and a pop-up window will appear - click the Install button.
- The template will load with sample data.
- In the yellow notice bar at the top, click Connect your data.
- Enter your ActivTrak account number and Extended Event Duration Threshold (the longest duration for a single event in seconds). Your account number is in the Account Information menu in ActivTrak; access it via the circle icon in the top right corner.
- Click the Next button.
- A Connect to ActivTrak for Potential False Activity window will appear - click the Sign in and connect button.
- A Sign in with Google window will appear - select your ActivConnect credentials (the same credentials from the Validate your ActivConnect credentials step).
- In the Power BI Desktop window that wants to access your Google Account, click the Allow button.
- The data refreshment may take a few minutes.
Download the Power BI Desktop File (Optional)
- Click the pencil icon in the top right corner of the Power BI application, and click the Yes, go to workspace button if prompted.
- Select the ActivTrak for Power BI - Potential False Activity file.
- From the File menu, click Download this file.
