Release Notes: ActivConnect users View

  • General Availability (GA): Fully released and available to all eligible customers

  • Legacy plan handling: Customers currently using the legacy user_identifier user_identifiersv2 custom views will continue to have access to their existing view during the transition period. However, all new and existing customers should migrate to the new users view as the standard for querying user identity data.

What's new:

Feature description

The new ActivConnect users view provides a centralized point to query users' profiles and associated ActivTrak agents. This replaces the legacy user_identifiers view that included a subset of this information. This update includes improved column naming, refactored view structure, and better organization of data fields to support more efficient querying and reporting on user information across your organization

  • Streamlined query access: Simplified, more intuitive view name and column structure for querying user identity data
  • Improved data organization: Enhanced column ordering and naming conventions for better data clarity and usability
  • Comprehensive user information: Access to user unique ID, display name, user principal names (UPNs), email addresses, employee IDs, device login counts, and agent information
  • Standardized identity data export: Single authoritative view for exporting user identity data from ActivConnect for integration with other systems and BI platforms

 

Use cases

The users view is designed for engineering teams and BI/reporting professionals who need to export user identity data from ActivConnect. Common use cases include joining ActivConnect data with other organizational systems (Active Directory, HRIS platforms, etc.) and building custom reports and dashboards that require user attribute information.

For customers on legacy views

If you are currently using the legacy user_identifier, user_identifiersv2 custom views, contact your Customer Success team to discuss your migration timeline and any support needed to update your existing queries and reports.

 

Additional information:

Migration notes

  • What's Changing: The primary view for querying user identity data is now called users (previously user_identifiersv2). Column names and ordering have been improved for clarity and usability.
  • Action Required: Yes. Customers should migrate their existing queries, BI reports, and data exports to reference the new users view to ensure consistency and access to the latest improvements.
  • Deadline: December 31, 2025. The legacy user_identifiers and user_identifiersv2 custom view will be deprecated after this date. Please plan your migration accordingly.

 

Coming soon

Enhanced identity data capabilities and additional user attributes may be added to the users view based on customer feedback and platform roadmap priorities.
