Delete User & Data

Warning!

Deleting a user and the associated historical data is permanent and irreversible. All activity data will be removed from ActivTrak.

Use the Delete users & data action to permanently remove a user from ActivTrak, including their user record and all historical activity data. This is typically done when:

  • An employee leaves the organization, and no data retention is required
  • Removing duplicate or erroneous user records
  • Complying with data deletion requests
  • Cleaning up test accounts from trial periods

For a single user

  1. Find the user using the search bar or applying filters
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the right side of the user's row
  3. Select Delete user & data
  4. Confirm your selection in the popup window by clicking Delete users & data

For multiple users

  1. Select multiple users using the checkboxes to the left of the table
  2. Click the Delete users & data button at the top of the table
  3. Acknowledge that the data will be permanently deleted and that the action cannot be undone
  4. Click Delete users & data to confirm
Important:
  • When you delete a user record, ActivTrak will retain their identifiers as Global Logins on the Do Not Track list to prevent future tracking.
  • This action frees up any licenses associated with the user. For example, if a user has two Agents assigned to their record, deleting the user and the associated data frees both licenses.
  • Unlicensed users do not have assigned Agents; therefore, this action maintains your current license usage.
