Maintaining accurate employee information is critical for ensuring data quality and the successful integration of essential systems. Based on feedback from our valued customers, we’ve redesigned ActivTrak’s user management system to save Administrators time, streamline workflows and enhance the overall user experience within ActivTrak.
Next Gen User Management, now in Early Access (EA), includes:
New Users Page:
- Primary location for managing user profiles and assignments
- Allows editing of user details such as email, display name and employee ID
- Automatically updates display names across associated Agents
Agent Assignment/Reassignment:
- Easily assign or reassign Agents to users directly from the user detail page
- Create new user records from the users page
Global Tracking Exclusions:
- Exclude non-user accounts such as Admin and default user from tracking and license consumption
User Do Not Track
- Set a user to not be tracked, which is automatically applied to relevant existing and future reporting Agents
User Data Deletion:
- Ability to delete historical activity data to reclaim licenses

ActivConnect
- New view to correlate ActivTrak Agent IDs with corresponding user emails and employee IDs
Improved Integration (Beta):
- Automatic updates for user attributes through the Entra ID (formerly known as Azure AD) integration
- Display names, emails, user principal names, and employee IDs are updated via the scheduled daily sync
- Push users and groups creation and updates through Entra ID or directly using SCIM users and groups APIs
Who has Early Access?
Current customers with active integrations are automatically opted in to Early Access of Next Gen User Management. To confirm your account’s inclusion, find the new Users page by navigating to Settings > Users & Groups > Users.
