What's new:
ActivTrak for BI - AI Insights v1.1 adds a new Compliance report page that flags unsanctioned "shadow AI" tool usage, and restructures the Impact page's productivity comparison to show baseline-relative deltas instead of flat, side-by-side figures. Together, these changes extend the template from answering "is AI adoption happening and is it working" to also answering "is that usage safe and sanctioned."
Key capabilities
- Compliance report page: A new page dedicated to AI governance, with Approved vs. Unapproved headline cards, an AI Tools Discovered table sortable by usage hours, a team-level exposure breakdown, and a usage trend chart tracking approved vs. unapproved adoption over time.
- Baseline-relative Impact page: The former flat productivity table is now a Stage 0 baseline reference card paired with Stage 1-3 delta comparisons, using arrow indicators to show how each AI adoption maturity stage differs from users with no AI usage.
- Two new productivity metrics: Workday Span (Hrs) and % Focused Time join Overall Utilization % and Core Activity Efficiency % on the Impact page, giving a finer-grained view of how AI adoption affects the shape of the workday.
- Team-level adoption rollup: The Adoption page's user-level detail table is now a team-level "AI Adoption by Team" table, with per-user usage signals expressed as team averages.
- Relocated trend chart: The User Distribution by AI Adoption Maturity chart moved from the Impact page to the Adoption page, alongside a new % AI Usage overlay.
Use the new Compliance page to catch unsanctioned AI tool usage before it becomes a governance risk, and use the restructured Impact page to make a clearer, baseline-relative case that AI adoption is shifting time toward higher-value work.
The primary audience for the new Compliance page is IT leaders, security and compliance teams, and HR leaders evaluating AI governance exposure. Executives and people leaders building the business case for AI enablement investment will get the most value from the restructured Impact page.

- Request access: Contact your Customer Success team to confirm eligibility and enable the AI Insights paid add-on for your account.
- Download directly from within the app. Log in to ActivTrak and navigate to API & Integration > ActivConnect & BI
Additional information
Accounts upgrading from v1.0 will see the Impact page's productivity table replaced by the Stage 0 baseline and delta view, and the Adoption page's user-level table replaced by the team-level rollup. You can still reach per-user detail on the Adoption page by scoping the page's Team filter to a single team. The update does not remove any data or historical trend information; the underlying AI Adoption Maturity stage model and thresholds remain unchanged.
