What's new:
Feature description
Schedule Adherence now includes a new "Absent" schedule status that automatically identifies when users miss their scheduled workdays without approved time off. This eliminates the need for complex filter combinations and gives managers instant visibility into attendance patterns, making it easier to track workforce compliance and identify potential issues before they become problems.
Key capabilities
The Absent status works intelligently with your workforce data to provide accurate attendance tracking. At the start of a scheduled workday, a user is automatically marked Absent until they log productive activity or approved time off through the HRIS Integration. For customers using the HRIS Integration, hourly time off is calculated with an 8-hour-per-day cap to ensure accurate tracking. For teams using Flexible Hours schedules, the Absent status applies only when the sum of productive time and approved time off equals zero.
Each user's status begins as Absent at the start of their scheduled workday. Once the user logs any productive activity, the status updates to Incomplete until they meet their scheduled work-hour requirements. When the required time threshold is reached, the status changes to Complete. If no productive activity or approved time off is recorded by the end of the workday, the status remains Absent. If the user has approved time off, the status will say Not Applicable.
This update simplifies manager workflows by eliminating guesswork and providing clear categorization. Every day is now cleanly organized into one of three statuses: Absent, Complete, or Incomplete. The result is better workforce planning, improved compliance tracking, and more accurate trend analysis, helping managers make informed decisions about their teams.
Use cases
HR managers and team leaders can now quickly identify attendance issues without manually cross-referencing multiple data sources. At a glance, they can see which team members missed their scheduled workdays, distinguish between approved absences and unplanned ones, and spot attendance trends that may require intervention. This is particularly valuable for organizations managing hybrid or distributed teams where visibility into daily attendance patterns is essential for maintaining productivity and compliance with company policies.
