Definition
The percentage change in a team's value between the selected time
period and the comparison period. % Chg in the Biggest Increase charts
shows how much the metric has increased. The Biggest Decline charts
show a decrease.
Calculation
(|Value in selected time period − Value in comparison period| / Value
in comparison period) × 100%
Example
If a team averaged 6.0 Productive Hrs/Day in the comparison period
and 6.6 in the selected time period, its % Chg is ((6.6 − 6.0) /
6.0) × 100% = 10%.

A utilization status indicating that a user is within (±) 20% of
their Productive Hrs/Day goal. On this dashboard,
Healthy shows the percentage of users in the selected
team or organization who have a Healthy utilization status.
Calculation
(Healthy users / Total users) × 100%
Example
If the goal is 7 Productive Hrs/Day and a worker averages 6.3 Productive
Hrs/Day (90%), they have a Healthy utilization status. If 40 of the
50 users on a team have a Healthy status, the team's Healthy value
is (40 / 50) × 100% = 80%.

Definition
A workload status for a team indicating that at least (≥) 50% of
team members are
Overutilized.
A High workload suggests the team is consistently working well above
its productivity goals, which can lead to burnout if it continues.
Example
If 6 of the 10 members on a team have an Overutilized status, 60%
of the team is Overutilized, so the team's workload is
High.

Definition
A classification that identifies where a user performed their work
activities on a specific date, based on network connectivity patterns,
IP addresses, and other location detection methods configured in
ActivTrak. On this dashboard, Location lets you compare productivity
across different work environments.
Calculation
Location is determined by ActivTrak's location detection algorithm,
which typically evaluates:
- Network connection data (office Wi-Fi vs. external networks)
- IP address ranges associated with office locations
- VPN connection status
- Administrator-defined location rules
Location values include:
- Office: A user worked primarily (≥80%) from a designated office location
- Remote: A user worked primarily (≥80%) from a non-office location such as home or other remote site
- Office/Remote: A user split their workday between office and remote locations
- Unknown: Location could not be determined
Example
In Productive Hrs/Day by Location, users are grouped by where they
worked, so you can see whether Remote, Office, and Office/Remote
users have similar Productive Hrs/Day.

Workdays during the selected time period when a user performed their
work primarily from a designated office location. This provides a
concrete measure of in-office presence and helps organizations track
physical workplace utilization.
Calculation
Location is marked as "Office" when the user spends the majority
of the workday (≥80%) connected from a designated office location.
Example
A user who spends 90% of Tuesday connected from the office is marked
as Office for that day, and that day counts toward the Office group
in Productive Hrs/Day by Location.

Definition
Workdays during the selected time period when a user worked in a
hybrid mode, splitting the workday between remote and office locations
on the same day. This captures flexible work patterns where employees
divide their time between the office and remote work within a single
workday, rather than working entirely from one location.
Calculation
Location is marked as "Office/Remote" when the user spends the workday
split between the office and a remote location.
Example
A user who works from home in the morning and from the office in
the afternoon is marked as Office/Remote for that day, and that day
counts toward the Office/Remote group in Productive Hrs/Day by Location.

A workload status for a team indicating that at least (≥) 70% of
team members are
Healthy.
An Optimal workload suggests most of the team is working within a
sustainable range of its productivity goals.
Example
If 8 of the 10 members on a team have a Healthy status, 80% of the
team is Healthy, so the team's workload is Optimal.

Also known as % Overutilized
Definition
A utilization status indicating that a user is recording more than
20% above their Productive Hrs/Day goal. On this dashboard,
Overutilized shows the percentage of users in the
selected team or organization who have an Overutilized status.
Calculation
(Overutilized users / Total users) × 100%
Example
If the goal is 7 Productive Hrs/Day and a user averages 9.5 Productive
Hrs/Day (135%), they have an Overutilized status. If 5 of the 20
users on a team have an Overutilized status, the team's Overutilized
value is (5 / 20) × 100% = 25%.

A Yes or No indicator showing whether a team met its productivity
goals during the selected time frame. Yes means
the team met or exceeded its goals, and No means
it fell short. Use it for a quick read on which teams are on track
before looking at how far above or below the goal each team is.
Example
If Human Resources has a goal of 7.0 productive hours per day and
averages 8.5, Prod. Goals Achieved shows Yes. If
Customer Support has a goal of 5.0 and averages 4.1, it shows
No. Read it alongside Team Workload to see whether
a team that is meeting its goal is doing so at a sustainable pace.

Definition
An
organizational unit in ActivTrak
that groups users together based on shared characteristics such
as department, function, reporting structure, or project assignment.
Teams (also known as
Groups)
serve as a primary filter for analyzing productivity data and
enable comparative analysis across different groups within an
organization.
Teams in ActivTrak:
- Created and managed by administrators
- Allow for hierarchical structures (teams within teams)
- Serve as filters for dashboards and reports
- Enable team-level goal setting and benchmarking
- Provide context for productivity comparisons
Example
A financial services company has structured its ActivTrak teams
to match its organizational hierarchy:
- The Accounting team consists of 8 members, averaging 6.2 productive hours per day, which is above their 6.0-hour benchmark.
- The Investment Analysis team comprises 12 analysts, who currently average 5.8 productive hours daily, slightly below their target of 6.0 hours.
- The Client Services team, the largest group with 15 members, maintains a productivity level of 6.5 hours per day, exceeding its 6.0-hour goal.
- The IT Support team of six specialists averages 5.7 productive hours daily, exceeding their lower benchmark of 5.5 hours, due to the reactive nature of their work.
Using these team designations, executives can filter dashboard data to compare performance across departments, while team leaders can view only their specific team metrics. This structure enables appropriate goal-setting based on different job functions and provides meaningful context for productivity analysis throughout the organization.

Definition
A workload classification status that summarizes a team's overall utilization pattern, indicating whether the team is operating at optimal, high, low, or varied capacity levels. This assessment provides leadership with a high-level view of team workload sustainability and helps identify departments requiring resource adjustments, workload rebalancing, or capacity optimization.
Calculation
Team Workload is determined by the distribution of utilization statuses across team members:
- Optimal when the Healthy is greater than or equal to 70%
- High when the Overutilized is greater than or equal to 50%
- Low when the Underutilized is more than 50%
- Varied when multiple utilization patterns coexist within the team
Example
A team with 52% Healthy users, 12% Overutilized users, and 36% Underutilized users doesn't meet the threshold for Optimal, High, or Low, so its Team Workload is Varied. A team with 60% Underutilized users would have a Team Workload of Low.

Also known as % Underutilized
Definition
A utilization status indicating that a user is recording more than
20% below their Productive Hrs/Day goal.
On this dashboard, Underutilized shows the percentage
of users in the selected team who have an Underutilized
status.
Calculation
(Underutilized users / Total users) × 100%
Example
If the goal is 7 Productive Hrs/Day and a user averages 5.4 Productive
Hrs/Day (77%), they have an Underutilized status. If 10 of the 50
users on a team have an Underutilized status, the team's Underutilized
value is (10 / 50) × 100% = 20%.

Definition
A workload status for a team indicating a mix of workload types across
team members that doesn't meet the criteria for
High,
Optimal,
or
Low.
A Varied workload means the team's average doesn't tell the whole
story, so look at individual members to see who is over or under
their goals.
Example
If a team of 10 has 4 Healthy members, 3 Overutilized members, and
3 Underutilized members, no group reaches the threshold for High
(at least 50% Overutilized), Optimal (at least 70% Healthy), or Low
(more than 50% Underutilized). The team's workload is
Varied.
